Licenses
How you may use Macloving apps, and the open-source software they include.
About this page
This page has two parts. The first is a summary of the license that applies when you use a Macloving app. The second lists the open-source software used to build the Macloving website.
The full terms are in the app license agreement.
App license summary
Macloving apps are licensed to you, not sold. This summary explains what that license allows.
Apps you use through the membership
- You may use every published app in the catalog while your membership is active, including updates.
- When the membership ends, membership apps stop unlocking paid access.
- This isn't a promise that every app will be developed or supported forever, or that it will run on every future version of macOS.
Free apps
- You may download and use free apps with a free Macloving account.
- Free apps may only be downloaded from macloving.app; please share a link instead of the file.
For all apps
- Devices: paid access may be activated on up to 2 Macs per account at the same time.
- Personal and commercial use: Membership apps may be used for personal and work purposes by the account holder.
- Don't share your account or activations, resell or redistribute paid apps, or try to get around activation or the device limit.
- Don't reverse engineer the apps, except where the law allows it.
- Your data stays yours. Documents and data you create with an app belong to you. Ending a license never deletes them.
- Support is provided on a reasonable-effort basis. We don't guarantee support for any app for a fixed period.
- Warranty and liability:
The terms of service also apply.
Open-source software used by the website
The Macloving website is built with open-source software. We're grateful to the people who make it. The main packages are listed below with their licenses, as declared by each package.
- next (Next.js): MIT License. https://nextjs.org
- react: MIT License. https://react.dev
- react-dom: MIT License. https://react.dev
- convex: Apache License 2.0. https://convex.dev
- better-auth: MIT License. https://better-auth.com
- @convex-dev/better-auth: Apache License 2.0. https://github.com/get-convex/better-auth
- lucide-react (Lucide icons): ISC License. https://lucide.dev
- zod: MIT License. https://zod.dev
- server-only: MIT License. https://www.npmjs.com/package/server-only
These packages also depend on other open-source packages, each under its own license. The full license texts are included with each package's source code at the addresses above.
Each app lists its open-source components and their licenses in its About window.
Fonts and artwork
- Fonts. The website uses Inter by Rasmus Andersson, licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, and ITC Garamond (Light Condensed), a Monotype typeface, for section titles. Both are served from Macloving's own servers. If it can't load, text falls back to fonts already installed on your device. Macloving doesn't distribute any Apple fonts.
- Preview artwork. App icons and screenshots shown in the preview catalog are original concept artwork made for Macloving. They are not taken from other apps.
- Trademarks. Mac, macOS and other product names mentioned on the site belong to their owners. Macloving isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.
