Terms of service
The agreement between you and Macloving for the website, your account and the membership.
About these terms
These terms apply when you use Macloving (macloving.app): the website, your account, downloads, updates and the membership. Macloving is operated by legal entity name, business address ("Macloving", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
The service
Macloving is a catalog of native macOS apps.
- Free apps download with a free Macloving account and need no sign-in inside the app.
- Membership apps are included with the Macloving Membership. They sign in once inside the app and unlock while your membership is active.
You download and install apps yourself; Macloving never installs software without your action. Apps update through their built-in updater. Use of every app is covered by the app license agreement. We may add, change or remove apps; if we remove a membership app, we'll give at least 30 days' notice on the website.
Your account
- Sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to that email or Google account secure.
- Your account is personal: don't share or sell it. You're responsible for activity on it.
- You must be at least minimum age to create an account.
The membership
Payments. Checkout is provided by Polar (polar.sh) as merchant of record: Polar processes your payment, calculates tax and issues receipts, and its terms also apply to the payment.
Price and renewal. The membership costs $2/month or $20/year and renews automatically until you cancel. We'll remind you before an annual renewal. We'll give at least 30 days' notice of a price change for existing members, and you can cancel before it applies.
Failed payments. If a renewal fails, access continues for 7 days while the payment is retried, then the membership ends.
Cancelling. Cancel at any time in billing. Your access continues to the end of the paid period. Refunds are covered by the refund policy.
When a membership ends, membership apps stop unlocking membership features and stop receiving updates. Free apps stay free. We never delete documents or data you created with any app.
Devices
Membership apps can be activated on up to 2 Macs per account at the same time. You can remove a Mac in your devices. Apps can keep working offline for a limited time between check-ins.
Acceptable use
Don't share, resell or publish apps, download links or activation tokens; try to get around activation, payment or download checks; scrape the website or download files in bulk; attack or probe the service (security research is welcome under our security policy); use Macloving to break the law or harm others; or open payment disputes in bad faith.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where reasonable we'll warn you first. If we close a paid account for a serious breach, unused membership time isn't refunded unless the law requires it.
Ownership
The website, the apps, and their names, artwork and text belong to Macloving or its licensors. You receive the license described in the app license agreement. Other companies' product names belong to their owners and are used only to describe compatibility.
Warranties
We work hard to make apps that are reliable and useful, and we'll fix problems we're told about. To the extent the law allows, the service and apps are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind beyond those that can't be excluded by law. Back up your data regularly.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or business, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Macloving in the 12 months before the claim.
Consumer rights
If you're a consumer, you keep the rights the law in your country gives you, and nothing in these terms takes them away.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of governing law country. If you're a consumer, you may also bring claims in the courts where you live, and mandatory consumer law of your country still applies. Please contact support first; most problems are sorted out quickly.
Changes
We may update these terms. For material changes we'll tell you at least 30 days before they apply, by email or on the website, and ask you to accept the new terms the next time you sign in. If you don't agree, you can cancel and stop using the service.
